Yeshwantrrao Chavan College of Engineering has established institute innovation council (IIC) as per the guidelines provided by MHRD Innovation Cell (MIC) and AICTE. With a view to provide platform to the innate creativity in the students, YCCE has developed “Innovative Gallery” which was inaugurated on 09.04.2016 at the hands of Hon’ble Secretary, NYSS, Shri Sagarji Meghe in the presence of Dr. U.P.Waghe,Principal, YCCE, Nagpur. Total of 84 innovative projects from all branches of engineering are on display, out of which 21 projects based patents have been filed. By virtue of this gallery, the students can get motivation for development of innovative projects. It is the small step taken by institute to develop innovation ecosystem within campus. also sharpens their analytical and presentation skill which the decisive factor in the corporate world. Mere observation of the gallery can encourage the fellow students to implement creativity and innovativeness in project work.
ISRO Robotics Challenge –URSC 2024 is National level space challenge competition organized by UR Rao Satellite Centre, ISRO, Bengaluru with tagline “Lets build a space robot”. Team Titans of city’s Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering competed and outsmarted 1,500 of some of the best brains from IITs, IIITs, NITs, to bag the prestigious ISRO Robotics Challenge (IROC-U) title.
YCCE presented its rover’s software and hardware concept with a 3D model. They designed a rover named ‘GURUtva’, with a fully automated and robotic arm, factoring in bumpy, solid, rocky, craters and pits on the Moon’s surface. The rover is designed to collect samples on the Moon and keep them safe in a vial. Their rover, GURUtva, successfully navigated simulated moon-like terrain.
Mentored by Dr. Sandip Khedkar and Mr. Niket Malusare, the team showcased exceptional innovation. Team members were Sanjyot Kawale (Leader), Deepanshu Pise, Ashwini Gajbhiye, Ritika Meshram, Joel Dubba, Padmesh Kimmatkar, Harsh Chitmulwar, Jay Kahate, and Ayush Chakole. The winnears of the team Titans were falicited by the Hon President of India on the occasion of first national space day 23 August 2024 at NewDelhi.
The Titans from Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering bagged the Consolation Prize of ₹2,00,000 at the ISRO Robotics Challenge – IRoC U 2025, organised by U. R. Rao Satellite Centre, ISRO. The competition focusing on robotic rovers for interplanetary missions.
The award was presented on 23rd August 2025 at the National Space Day Event in Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, by Dr. Jitendra Singh (Hon’ble Minister, Department of Space) and Dr V. Narayanan, (Chairman ISRO).
